Construction

Construction is integral to industry. If industries wish to expand then additional facilities to house their operations must be created. There is also the factor of housing workers that needs to be taken into a account too. If a new business venture or industry attracts a number of people to an area to find work then additional housing must be created.

This illustrates how construction is integral to other industries. Progress requires more buildings, and a lack of new construction can slow progress, so that the it is allowed to go on in order for industries and businesses to expand.

As we have mentioned climate change and environmental damage are serious issues that other industries have had to deal with. So too does the construction industry as pressure grows to curb the amount of development taking place in areas of natural beauty. Conservation areas and green belts have been established, areas in which construction is heavily restricted. This prevents unnecessary environmental damage to areas of outstanding natural beauty that are dwindling in number.

However, we need to build in order to progress, so compromise must be made. Alternative methods of construction are being utilised that are less damaging to the environment, and there is greater pressure for construction firms to cut the levels of wasted materials. Small changes to the way these firms function can significantly curb the amount of damage they’re doing to the environment.
